Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment Options

Peripheral Neuropathy Treatment Options

The treatment options for peripheral neuropathy include pharmaceuticals, vitamin supplement therapy and physical therapy. Since so many people suffer from peripheral neuropathy, research is ongoing and robust. Although promising new therapies may be available soon, the following are the only modalities (methods) for peripheral neuropathy treatment currently available to sufferers of this condition.

3 Modalities of Treatment

Pharmaceuticals: Peripheral neuropathy treatment choices are limited and treat neuropathy symptoms, rather than treating peripheral neuropathy causes. Palliative therapies, such as the prescription medications Pregabalin, Gabapentin, and tricyclic antidepressants, though very effective in some cases, can be difficult to tolerate. Often, side effects and cost prohibit ongoing treatment.

Vitamin and Supplement Therapy: We recommend only clinically proven USP ingredients. Although vitamin therapies may take several weeks to show improvement, they do so in a safe manner without side effects or drug interactions. Carefully read labels for any unwanted or unproven ingredients

Physical Therapy: Several promising therapies are currently under investigation. Although only providing temporary relief, anodyne therapy may provide some relief for some sufferers of peripheral neuropathy pain.
